Today, Becky Jordi, Nassau County Horticulture Extension Agent will conduct a Plant Clinic from 10 am until 2pm at the Yulee Extension Office (A1A and Pages Dairy Road).  All County residents are invited to bring plant samples showing problems in their landscapes.

Senior Expo Celebrates 12th Year in Jacksonville

            (JACKSONVILLE, FL) – Today’s seniors are leading healthier, more vigorous lives than ever before. And, as people add years to their lives, they are actively seeking ways to add life to their years. That’s what the Senior Expo experience is all about. At the City of Jacksonville’s 12th Annual Senior Expo, the 50-plus set will see what’s new for today’s energetic seniors. The Senior Expo takes place Wednesday and Thursday, May 21 and 22 (from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at the Prime Osborn Convention Center (one-third mile west of downtown Jacksonville in the old train station). Admission and parking is FREE!

Master Gardener Claudie Speed will conduct a Landscape Matters class on herbs.  The session will take place at the UF/IFAS Nassau County Demonstration Garden.  Claudie will discuss herbs you can grow for both culinary and medicinal purposes.  The new Herb bed in the Demonstration Garden will have a variety of herb plants. Members of the Fernandina Beach Police and Fire Departments along with other volunteers will be at Publix Supermarket on Saturday May 24th from 1:00pm - 5:00pm bagging groceries for tips to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness. Several of the baggers will be taking part in a 3 day 60 mile walk for this cause. So come out on Saturday and support "Team Amelia".
