Deputies seize 738 pounds of marijuana on I-95
The Nassau County Sheriff's Office reported today that deputies seized 737.9 pounds of marijuana July 10 during a traffic stop at the southbound agricultural inspection station on Interstate 95. Deputies responded to assist inspection station officers who pulled over a 2007 Ford van for failing to stop at the station, according to a press release today. After being given consent to search the van's load of boxes, searchers found the marijuana. Noemi Romero of Fayetteville, N.C., was booked into the Nassau County Jail on a charge of trafficking more than 25 pounds of marijuana. Bond was set at $100,000.
