Breaking news -- Callahan mother blamed in toddler's death
A Callahan mother is in custody after toxicology results showed her sick baby had a lethal dose of Methadone in his system at the time of his January death. The Brantley County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia arrested Brandy Love Edwards on a Nassau County warrant for aggravated child neglect, Nassau Sheriff Tommy Seagraves announced today. The investigation started Jan. 25 when Nassau deputies were called to a home on Cornelia Court regarding a 15-month-old child who was found unresponsive. Edwards is accused of not taking the boy for treatment when he developed hives and was acting strangely. The toxicology report later showed the boy had .18 milligrams of Methadone in his system, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
