Seagraves to take over Animal Control April 1
By WENDI ZONGKER Yulee — Nassau County Sheriff Tommy Seagraves will take over the troubled Animal Care and Control department effective April 1. The Nassau County Commission Wednesday unanimously approved Seagraves' proposal, but did not discuss a a definite budget. Seagraves originally requested more than $900,000 to run the department and publicly rejected an offer of $680,000 from County Coordinator Edward Sealover. County staff and Seagraves' staff have been directed to meet during the next two weeks to determine how the proposal can be implemented.
